American Dad! Apocalypse Soon: UA review, downloads, soft-launch strategy
On October 22, a mobile game inspired by the famous comedy series American Dad! was released in App Store and Google Play. As part of the pre-launch, the game has been available in several countries since mid-October. Starting from October 12, the game could be downloaded in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
The game that the publisher describes as "the perfect combination of RPG combat and strategy" turns out to be suspiciously like a famous free-to-play Fallout Shelter. According to the story, Stan Smith turns his house into a shelter after the Earth was attacked by aliens. The player’s task is to equip the base, then to participate in PvE and PvP battles.
This is not the first developer's game to use the Fallout Shelter image, you can clearly see it in Hustle Castle: Medieval Vault - one of the most successful My Com games.
American Dad! Apocalypse Soon app performance
Less than a week after the release, the application shows good results. On September 25, the game reached 80 000 downloads in both stores. Among the most contributing countries are the US, UK, and Russia (iOS) as well as Canada, Brazil, and Australia (Android). As for the revenue, the free-to-play mobile game surpassed $10 Thousand in a few days.
Android application jumped 109 lines in two days to became best Role-Playing game in the US. The iOS version entered Top 15 Free Games in most countries.

The publisher was testing Paid Advertising in Australia and New Zealand only for the Android app. From the worldwide release date the ad start to be shown in Mexico, Russia, and few other countries.
