Snap updated its app to include a feature that allows users to share 3D images that they have created.
3D Camera Mode adds depth to images that move as the user tilts their phone.
The feature can be used on the iPhone X and iOS, but older Androids and iPhones can only view 3D images without being able to create them.
The company also launched 3D Effects to allow users to swipe a Filter Carousel.
‘The updates feel magical. They bring experience to life in a way that is close to the real thing,’ said Snapchat in a blog post.
The addition shows the effect of augmented reality on social media.
Close to 70% of users on the platform already add AR effects according to the company. Facebook may likely introduce similar features soon.
